Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Ability to provide proof of identity and right to work in the United States
  • Favorable result on background check as required by state
  • Ability to perform physical activities including frequent walking, sitting, standing, bending, stooping, reaching
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull items up to 25 lbs
  • Strong fine motor skills and full use of hands for grasping, writing, typing, and use of technology
  • Visual and auditory acuity including color, depth, peripheral vision, and focus adjustment 100 percent of the time
  • Occasional driving or climbing may be necessary

Job Qualifications

  • Previous medical office experience preferred
  • Previous ophthalmic experience strongly preferred
  • Minimum of 1 year in a position interacting with customers or patients or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
  • Favorable result on background check as required by state
  • Able to provide proof of identity and right to work in the United States

Job Duties

  • Embrace and execute the Total Patient Experience to build relationships with all patients while delivering great service and support
  • Provide exceptional customer service during every patient encounter in person or via phone
  • Display a professional attitude and greet patients promptly with a smile
  • Answer both external and internal phones assuring prompt and courteous service
  • Practice urgency with consideration to patient and doctor schedules
  • Double check insurance authorizations to ensure completion and build accurate flow sheets
  • Check out patients and collect correct payments according to procedures
  • Manage patient flow in the office ensuring communication to maximize efficiency and customer service
  • Complete daily reconciliations, close day, and count down cash drawer
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures including HIPAA
  • Perform general office duties and cleaning as assigned by the manager
