Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required
- Ability to provide proof of identity and right to work in the United States
- Favorable result on background check as required by state
- Ability to perform physical activities including frequent walking, sitting, standing, bending, stooping, reaching
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull items up to 25 lbs
- Strong fine motor skills and full use of hands for grasping, writing, typing, and use of technology
- Visual and auditory acuity including color, depth, peripheral vision, and focus adjustment 100 percent of the time
- Occasional driving or climbing may be necessary
Job Qualifications
- Previous medical office experience preferred
- Previous ophthalmic experience strongly preferred
- Minimum of 1 year in a position interacting with customers or patients or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
- Favorable result on background check as required by state
- Able to provide proof of identity and right to work in the United States
Job Duties
- Embrace and execute the Total Patient Experience to build relationships with all patients while delivering great service and support
- Provide exceptional customer service during every patient encounter in person or via phone
- Display a professional attitude and greet patients promptly with a smile
- Answer both external and internal phones assuring prompt and courteous service
- Practice urgency with consideration to patient and doctor schedules
- Double check insurance authorizations to ensure completion and build accurate flow sheets
- Check out patients and collect correct payments according to procedures
- Manage patient flow in the office ensuring communication to maximize efficiency and customer service
- Complete daily reconciliations, close day, and count down cash drawer
- Comply with all company policies and procedures including HIPAA
- Perform general office duties and cleaning as assigned by the manager
