Job Description
American Family Care (AFC) is one of the largest primary and urgent care providers in the United States, delivering healthcare services seven days a week on a walk-in basis. Founded with a mission to offer accessible and patient-centered care, AFC operates over 250 clinics nationwide, supplemented by a network of more than 800 in-network physicians who collectively serve over six million patients annually. Recognized by Inc. magazine as one of the fastest-growing companies in the U.S., AFC prides itself on its modern facilities equipped with onsite labs and in-house x-ray capabilities, enabling comprehensive and immediate treatment of acute illnesses and injuries, workers' compensation cases, and occupational medicine needs. The company's primary focus is to deliver the best possible healthcare in a kind, caring, and economically responsible manner. They are committed to respecting the rights of every patient and providing care at times and locations that are convenient to their needs. AFC’s business model includes company-owned centers as well as franchised locations, with the latter operating independently regarding employment practices and compensation. This structure allows AFC to maintain a consistent standard of care while fostering local autonomy and personalized service. The company culture emphasizes employee growth and satisfaction, offering a supportive work environment that is both professional and engaging.
This particular role is designed for a medical administrative position within one of AFC’s franchised or company-owned clinics. The position involves crucial front-line responsibilities including check-in and check-out of patients, insurance verification, payment collection, and maintenance of patient records and accounts. The primary function is to ensure smooth patient flow and uphold positive relations with patients by delivering excellent customer service. Employees in this role will start the day by prepping the clinic, which includes reviewing the facility, opening necessary systems, and preparing patient registration materials. During clinic hours, the role demands a friendly reception of patients, accurate registration, timely insurance verification, and efficient processing of payments. Beyond administrative tasks, this position also includes balancing daily patient charges, completing closing procedures, securing financial assets, and maintaining thorough documentation. It is a fast-paced environment where multitasking and attention to detail are essential. The hourly wage ranges between $16.00 to $19.00, reflecting the role's requirements and responsibilities. AFC values clear communication skills, computer literacy, especially familiarity with Microsoft Office, as well as accuracy and customer-focused service skills in its candidates. Working at AFC offers a unique opportunity to be part of an industry-leading healthcare provider dedicated to making a positive difference in patients' lives through compassionate care and operational excellence. The role suits individuals who thrive in dynamic settings and are motivated by the chance to contribute meaningfully to patient health and well-being.
