Job Requirements

Job Duties
- Maintain appointment schedule template including alterations, deletions, additions
- Communicate schedule changes to appropriate staff and physicians
- Coordinate ongoing front desk operations ensuring cost-effective and efficient services
- Receive patients at arrival verifying and obtaining necessary information and signatures
- Answer telephone calls, assist callers pleasantly, take accurate messages and refer to proper personnel
- Execute insurance pre-authorizations for diagnostic tests and procedures
- Track referrals coming into the practice
- Maintain electronic and paper medical records according to policies
- Manage daily activities such as message retrieval, fax distribution, filing, photocopying, mail sorting
- Forward phones to answering service and notify on-call physicians
- Collect and reconcile co-pay collections and cash drawers
- Collaborate in team and department quality improvement and evaluation activities
- Participate in staff meetings
- Interact professionally with diverse patients and healthcare team
- Coordinate patient and family feedback efforts
- Perform tasks as requested by physicians or management including cross coverage
- Assist or perform chaperone duties for patient medical procedures as needed
