Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in a medical receptionist or similar role preferred
- Knowledge of medical office software and basic computer skills
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational abilities
- Ability to handle cash and financial transactions accurately
Job Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Previous medical clerical experience preferred
- Basic computer knowledge, e.g., Microsoft Office
- Accuracy and detail orientation
- Positive customer service skills
- Well-groomed appearance
- Clear and articulate phone mannerisms
Job Duties
- Prepare the clinic for opening each day by reviewing the facility, opening all systems applications, and preparing new patient registration packets and required documents
- Greet patients, provide patients with initial paperwork and obtain copies of insurance and identification cards
- Register patients, update patient records, verify insurance accurately and timely, and check patients out
- Determine, collect, and process patient payments and address collection and billing issues
- Respond promptly to customer needs, provide excellent customer service, assist patients with follow-up appointments, and fulfill medical documentation requests
- Complete closing procedures by preparing closing documentation and submitting required reports
- Complete cash control procedures and secure financial assets
- Maintain complete and accurate documentation
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
