Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- A minimum of 1 year experience in a medical office setting preferred
- Valid driver’s license upon hire and throughout employment
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality
- Proficient in grammar, spelling, and verbal communication
- Ability to read and follow oral and written instructions
- Knowledge of computer and medical terminology desired
- Ability to provide excellent customer service
- Professional phone skills and etiquette
- Ability to file documents alphabetically and numerically
- Experience using office computer systems and equipment
- Ability to stand, sit, reach, lift up to 10 pounds, and use manual dexterity
- Willingness to travel 15-20% as needed
- Ability to wear personal protective equipment
- Adherence to information security policies including protection of ePHI and PHI
Job Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year experience in a medical office setting preferred
- Ability to learn and practice Pediatric Associate procedures, policies, and protocols
- Proficient grammar, spelling, and verbal communication skills
- Ability to read, comprehend, and follow oral and written instructions
- Knowledge of computer systems and medical terminology desired
- Ability to interact effectively and professionally with staff and patients
- Excellent customer service skills
- Professional phone skills and etiquette
- Good judgment and ability to maintain patient confidentiality
- Ability to file alphabetically and numerically
- Experience using computer systems, scanners, printers, and fax machines
- Valid driver’s license upon hire and throughout employment
Job Duties
- Check in patients upon arrival including updating demographics, insurance information, PCP, pharmacy, collect co-pays and patient balances, provide consents for signature as well as health questionnaires
- Check out patients, collect additional balances, provide visit summaries, specialist referral information, patient portal information, completed forms, and schedule follow-up appointments
- Verify patient insurance eligibility through Batch Eligibility or on demand
- Contact patients with inactive insurance or inappropriate PCPs
- Post patient charges and payments and complete charge and payment reconciliation
- Scan and upload documents in the document management system
- Sort and deliver mail and PA documents received by courier
- Maintain a clean work area and patient waiting area
- Participate in staff and educational meetings
