Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- ability to travel to other health centers administrative offices and national conferences
- ability to sit and stand for long periods
- ability to lift 20 pounds
- English language proficiency required Spanish preferred
- professional demeanor and appearance
- truthful in responding to health department inquiries
- ability to provide objective information about all pregnancy options
Job Qualifications
- Preferred two years of experience in healthcare preferably in sexual and reproductive health
- preferred experience with Electronic Health Records
- preferred abortion and family planning experience
- preferred certification as Medical Assistant or Surgical Technician
- excellent communication skills
- strong computer skills including practice management software MS Office and email
- ability to handle stress calmly and professionally
- attention to detail and follow-through
Job Duties
- Ensures compliance with front office procedures including setting up and closing reception area
- keeps lobby and patient waiting spaces neat and orderly
- greets and welcomes all patients with excellent service
- completes patient check-in and registration assisting with form completion
- enters patient data into Electronic Health Record and prepares charts
- manages patient charges and payments including processing payments and generating receipts
- runs daily cashier reports counts cash drawer balances day sheets and prepares bank deposits
- assists with patient intake ensuring clinicians have relevant information
- maintains clean and neat clinical workspaces
- provides empathetic support by allowing patients to explore feelings and ask questions
- communicates delays and wait times to patients
