The current opening at Nexus Clinic is for a full-time Medical Receptionist, a pivotal role responsible for managing the front desk operations and supporting the clinic's administrative functions. The Medical Receptionist acts as the first point of contact for patients, providing a welcoming atmosphere and ensuring smooth scheduling and documentation processes. This position demands a mature and responsible individual with a customer-focused mindset and a strong background in handling patient interactions and medical records. Familiarity with eClinicalWorks charting systems is highly valued, as it enhances the efficiency of patient record management and appointment scheduling.

The Medical Receptionist's duties extend beyond basic reception tasks; they are essential in maintaining patient satisfaction by optimizing appointment schedules to balance provider availability and treatment room utilization. Their role includes greeting patients, answering inquiries, assisting with financial transactions, and ensuring confidentiality of sensitive patient information. The schedule for this position is from 7:15 AM to 3:45 PM Monday through Thursday and 7:15 AM to 1:30 PM on Fridays, reflecting the clinic's commitment to work-life balance. The starting wage is competitive and determined by the candidate's experience and ability, starting from $15.00 per hour.

Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • minimum two years of customer service experience
  • ability to relocate to Columbus GA 31909 before starting work
  • dependable with consistent attendance
  • ability to work full-time hours including Monday to Friday
  • strong organizational and multitasking skills

Job Qualifications

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • two years of customer service experience
  • familiarity with eClinicalWorks charting systems preferred
  • basic knowledge of medical terminology preferred
  • strong computer skills preferred
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information

Job Duties

  • serves patients by greeting and helping them scheduling appointments and maintaining records and accounts
  • welcomes patients and visitors in person or on the telephone and answering or referring inquiries
  • optimizes patients' satisfaction provider time and treatment room utilization by scheduling appointments in person or by telephone
  • keeps patient appointments on schedule by notifying provider of patient's arrival reviewing service delivery compared to schedule and reminding providers of service delays
  • comforts patients by anticipating patients' anxieties answering patients' questions and maintaining the reception area
  • ensures availability of treatment information by filing and retrieving patient records
  • maintains patient accounts by obtaining recording and updating personal and financial information
