As a Front Desk team member at OrthoMaryland, you will be the welcoming face of our orthopaedic practice. This role is essential in ensuring that every patient and visitor feels comfortable and valued from the moment they arrive. You will be responsible for greeting patients in a friendly and timely manner, preparing them for their visits, and ensuring that all necessary information for their appointment and billing is complete and accurate. Your role involves coordinating patient flow with our medical and administrative staff to facilitate efficient scheduling and communication. In addition to patient interaction, you will be tasked with verifying insurance information, collecting copayments and balances, and maintaining patient confidentiality according to HIPAA guidelines.

You will collaborate with healthcare professionals, insurance companies, and patients, making your communication skills vital for success. Job Duties
- Check in and check out patients in a timely, friendly manner
- Comfort patients by answering any questions they may have
- Discuss patient balances and collect copayment/balances
- Maintain patient accounts by verifying insurance information and coordinating with staff for payment and referral requirements
- Keep doctors, physician assistants, medical assistants, and other related staff updated on scheduling, patient details, and potential service delays
- Protect patients' right to confidentiality and demonstrate familiarity with HIPAA
- Exhibit strong customer service skills in interactions with the public, staff, and physicians
- Maintain a professional demeanor aligned with company core values and shared purpose
- Collaborate in the process to protect patient health information
- Process collection of copayments and balances
- Schedule appointments while considering both patient and provider availability
- Understand and verify insurance eligibility and plan requirements
- Responsible for daily collection reconciliation
