Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Medical terminology knowledge preferred
  • Prior medical experience preferred
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Physical ability to stand and walk for long periods
  • Capability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
  • Corrected vision, hearing, and speech within normal limits

Job Duties

  • Operate telephone to answer, screen, or forward calls, providing information, taking messages, or scheduling appointments
  • Greet persons entering the establishment, determine nature and purpose of visit, and direct or escort them to specific destinations
  • Schedule appointments and maintain and update appointment calendars
  • Hear and resolve complaints from customers or the public
  • Transmit information or documents to customers, using a computer, mail, or facsimile machine
  • Analyze data to determine answers to questions from customers or members of the public
  • Follow step-by-step procedures in daily tasks
