Job Description
Denton Vision Center is a trusted provider of optometric services, dedicated to offering comprehensive eye care to patients in a welcoming and professional environment. As a well-established eye care facility, Denton Vision Center prides itself on delivering personalized attention, utilizing modern technology and techniques to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients of all ages. The center’s mission is to promote and protect the vision and eye health of the community by providing high-quality eyecare services that are both accessible and affordable.
We are currently seeking a reliable and friendly Medical Receptionist / Optometric Technician to join our team and provide critical support in both front desk operations and clinical tasks. This part-time role primarily focuses on Saturday coverage with occasional weekday fill-in assignments as needed, offering flexibility to those seeking PRN or per diem employment. The position pays $16.00 per hour and requires the candidate to work in person at our office.
The Medical Receptionist / Optometric Technician serves as an essential liaison between patients and clinical staff, ensuring a smooth office flow and delivering excellent patient care. The ideal candidate will have strong multitasking and customer service skills, the ability to perform medical procedures such as preliminary vision testing, and a friendly demeanor to welcome patients effectively. Responsibilities include greeting and checking in patients, answering phone calls, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance benefits, and collecting payments at the front desk.
On the clinical side, this role involves performing preliminary optometric tests such as visual acuity assessment, auto-refraction, and tonometry. They will also record patient history and prepare patients for eye exams, as well as assist the doctor during examinations when necessary. The position demands dependability and punctuality, with a preference for candidates with prior experience in medical, optometry, or front desk roles, though training will be provided for the right individual.
Working at Denton Vision Center offers the opportunity to be part of a supportive team dedicated to eye health excellence. This role is perfect for those who enjoy interacting with patients, have a passion for healthcare, and want to grow their skills in a dynamic optometric practice. Candidates who are comfortable working independently, handle multiple responsibilities efficiently, and maintain a professional attitude during busy times will thrive in this role. Applicants must be prepared for a background check as part of the hiring process.
In summary, this position combines administrative and clinical responsibilities to maintain an optimal patient experience and facilitate efficient office operations. With a competitive hourly wage and the chance to gain valuable experience in the optometry field, Denton Vision Center invites motivated individuals seeking part-time work to apply and contribute to our mission of exceptional eye care.
