Job Description

Golden State Dermatology is a prominent physician-led and owned dermatology group experiencing rapid growth throughout California, with over 37 locations serving diverse communities. As a leader in medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology, Golden State Dermatology specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of a broad spectrum of skin, hair, and nail conditions. Their expertise extends to advanced procedures such as Mohs micrographic surgery for skin cancer treatment, as well as a variety of surgical and non-surgical cosmetic skincare treatments including anti-aging therapies, body contouring, and plastic surgery. The organization prides itself on combining cutting-edge technology with compassionate patient care, ensuring each patient receives personalized treatment tailored to their unique needs. Golden State Dermatology employs board-certified dermatologists and skilled medical staff dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of clinical excellence and patient satisfaction. Their commitment to innovation and continuous improvement has positioned them as a trusted choice for dermatological care in California.

The Medical Receptionist role at Golden State Dermatology is integral to the everyday success of the practice. This position is responsible for managing the front desk operations with professionalism, efficiency, and a warm patient-focused approach. Daily responsibilities include warmly welcoming patients upon arrival, assisting with check-in and check-out procedures, and verifying insurance coverage and patient eligibility to ensure smooth billing processes. The receptionist will handle diverse phone inquiries and maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, contributing to streamlined clinic operations. Additionally, managing the appointment schedule plays a critical role, involving auditing future appointments, confirming patient attendance, and gathering essential intake information prior to appointments to guarantee a seamless patient experience. The receptionist will also be involved in filling appointment openings by proactively contacting patients on waitlists or with future appointments to offer earlier available slots, optimizing provider schedules. Beyond administrative duties, this position includes educating patients and staff about available skincare products and actively promoting product sales to enhance patient care and clinic revenue. Multitasking and effective task management are vital, as the Medical Receptionist must maintain a high level of organization and responsiveness within a fast-paced clinical environment. The Practice Manager may assign additional tasks based on the evolving needs of the practice. Above all, the Medical Receptionist is expected to provide exceptional, compassionate service to every patient, ensuring they feel welcomed, comfortable, and well-cared for during their visits. This role demands attention to detail, empathy, and a strong commitment to patient satisfaction, making it a key contributor to the overall success of Golden State Dermatology clinics.
