Job Description

American Family Care (AFC) stands as one of the largest primary and urgent care providers in the United States, dedicated to delivering accessible, patient-centered healthcare through an extensive network of more than 250 clinics and a team of 800 in-network physicians. Renowned for its commitment to timely and efficient medical care, AFC operates seven days a week on a walk-in basis, prioritizing episodic treatment of acute illnesses, injuries, workers' compensation, and occupational medicine. Each state-of-the-art AFC center is equipped with an onsite laboratory and in-house x-ray capabilities, ensuring comprehensive diagnostic and treatment services are readily available to patients. AFC is not just a healthcare provider but a pioneer in convenient healthcare delivery that combines quality with compassion and convenience. The company prides itself on fostering a welcoming and kind environment while respecting patient rights and making healthcare economically accessible at convenient times and locations. With its recognition by Inc. magazine as one of the fastest-growing companies in the U.S., AFC offers a stable yet dynamic work environment for healthcare professionals who are passionate about making a meaningful difference in people’s lives.

This particular position is with American Family Care Franchising, LLC (AFCF) and is associated with a franchised business location. It is important to note that while the overarching mission and standards of AFC are consistent, specific job duties, employment policies, compensation, and benefits may vary based on the franchise owner. The role focuses on acting as the first point of contact for patients by accurately checking them in and out, processing insurance verification, collecting payments, and managing patient records and accounts to maintain smooth patient flow and positive patient relations. This role requires a high level of accuracy, outstanding customer service skills, and the ability to handle financial transactions securely and efficiently.

The responsibilities include preparing the clinic for daily operations by checking systems and documents, greeting and registering patients, verifying insurance details promptly, collecting and processing payments, responding to patient inquiries, assisting with follow-up appointments, balancing financial transactions at the end of the day, maintaining proper documentation, and completing closing procedures. The position demands a detail-oriented professional who is comfortable working with medical records and systems, demonstrates professionalism in appearance and communication, and is capable of maintaining a calm and efficient workflow in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Compensation for this role ranges from $16.00 to $18.00 per hour, making it a competitive opportunity for individuals seeking a rewarding career in healthcare administration. Furthermore, employees enjoy an excellent benefits package that may include health, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, 401(k) plans including matching contributions, and other perks designed to support work-life balance and employee well-being. This opportunity offers not only a job but a chance to be part of a respected healthcare network that values growth, patient care, and employee satisfaction. If you are seeking a chance to work in a supportive, growing company that impacts lives positively every day, consider joining American Family Care and being part of their mission to provide the best healthcare possible in a kind and caring environment.
