Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • completion of an accredited medical office assistant or medical assistant program preferred
  • medical assistant certificate of completion and or one year experience as a medical assistant or medical office specialist preferred
  • familiarity with medical terminology required
  • experience with patient check-in and check-out process according to clinic protocol

Job Qualifications

  • high school diploma or equivalent

  • familiarity with medical terminology
  • experience with patient check-in and check-out processes according to clinic protocol
  • strong organizational and communication skills
  • ability to adapt to flexible work schedules and manage interruptions
  • professional appearance and demeanor

Job Duties

  • assist with daily clerical operations including answering multi-phone lines and making copies of documents as necessary
  • accurately file patient charts including scanning documents into files as necessary
  • schedule patient appointments as necessary including return visits and specialists
  • pre-authorize prescriptions and clinical tests such as CT, MRI, and ultrasound as necessary
  • collect co-pays and bill patients
  • maintain professionalism and confidentiality while handling patient information
  • perform other duties as assigned
