Job Description
Planned Parenthood California Central Coast (PPCCC) is an esteemed and trusted provider of high-quality, affordable reproductive health care services across California's Central Coast. Operating from six health center locations, PPCCC serves approximately 28,000 individuals annually, ensuring access to essential health services such as sexually transmitted infection testing and treatment, birth control options, breast and cervical cancer screenings, vasectomies, and safe, legal abortion care. Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent
- experience in customer service or healthcare settings
- strong interpersonal skills
- ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
- proficiency in using computer systems and practice management software
- availability to work flexible hours as needed
- legal authorization to work in the United States
Job Qualifications
- excellent written and verbal communication
- ability to relate to diverse communities
- thorough knowledge of medical billing terminology is desirable
- ability to travel within PPCCC geographic area from Thousand Oaks to San Luis Obispo
- prior experience in a healthcare or patient-facing role preferred
- bilingual Spanish-English proficiency is a plus
Job Duties
- adhere to Planned Parenthood California Central Coast policies, procedures, and protocols
- welcome each patient by smiling, providing direct eye contact, and making a personal connection
- assess client payer eligibility by verifying insurance, health plan authorization, patient ID, and funding source eligibility
- ensure accurate and detailed patient information entry into the Practice Management System
- act as an ambassador representing the organization’s values and service standards
- maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all patient interactions
- support front office operations including scheduling and patient flow management
