Job Requirements

  • High school diploma
  • two years of customer service or administrative office experience
  • authorized to work in the U.S.
  • availability to work Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
  • ability to occasionally work or travel beyond normal schedule
  • candidate must be able to sit, stand, walk, reach with hands and arms
  • occasional stooping, kneeling or crouching
  • ability to lift or move up to 10 pounds
  • specific vision abilities including close vision

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma
  • two years of customer service or administrative office experience
  • familiarity with medical software and medical terms
  • excellent customer service skills
  • attention to detail
  • strong communication skills
  • certification as a Medical Assistant, Nursing Assistant, or Pharmacy Technician preferred

Job Duties

  • Manages front desk reception for Health Center student check-in
  • receives phone calls by providing information, taking messages and referring calls to the appropriate person when necessary
  • greets patients and completes sign in process for appointments
  • assists in maintaining schedules for the office and providers
  • contacts staff in emergency situations
  • maintains patient charts in the center’s electronic health record system
  • ensures correct billing for services, providing patient tickets to identify any fees incurred during their visit
  • processes immunization documents submitted by students and assists staff and/or faculty with New Student Orientation
  • dispenses medication received from the pharmacy vendor to patients utilizing in-house prescriptions written by the treating provider
  • ensures appropriate medications are dispensed and confirms proper labeling
  • assists in maintaining medication inventory through daily dispensary balancing and inventory checks
  • monitors and maintains inventory of office supplies, forms and other materials
  • estimates office needs and operating requirements for purchasing purposes
  • performs other related duties as assigned
