Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or its equivalent
  • Full command, verbal and written, of the English language
  • Good telephone communication skills
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Knowledge of clerical functions
  • Current CPR card if applicable
  • Current PPD or Chest X-Ray if applicable
  • Current Health Certificate if applicable
  • Minimum of one year relevant experience preferred
  • Relevant certification or license if applicable
  • Ability to effectively elicit and provide information to and from appropriate individuals including supervisors, co-workers, clients via strong communication skills
  • Computer proficiency required
  • Must be at least 18 years of age

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior experience as a medical receptionist preferred
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) preferred
  • Certified Medical Administrative Assistant (CMAA) certification is a plus
  • Strong face-to-face customer service skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication in English
  • Good telephone communication skills
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Knowledge of clerical functions
  • Computer proficiency

Job Duties

  • Welcome patients and help them feel comfortable
  • Answer patient questions and provide information
  • Schedule appointments and remind patients
  • Optimize provider schedules for efficiency
  • Maintain accurate patient records including personal and financial information
  • Process payments and collect co-pays
  • Verify insurance benefits
