Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Graduation from a certified medical assistant program
  • BCLS certification as per department policy
  • Minimum two years of experience as a medical assistant
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Ability to provide backup coverage at multiple clinic locations
  • Strong organizational abilities
  • Effective communication skills
  • Availability to work at both South End and East Boston locations
  • Passion for team collaboration and patient-centered care

Job Duties

  • Balance compassionate tasks as a medical assistant and administrative support with leadership roles
  • Collaborate with other medical assistants to ensure smooth daily operations including schedule management and preparation
  • Provide backup medical assistant coverage during call outs, vacations, and oversee medical assistants at Recovery Services clinics
  • Help break down barriers to treatment and improve healthcare accessibility
  • Prepare and organize materials for weekly team rounds and case review
  • Assist with coordinating and scheduling meetings and trainings
  • Manage patients' monthly injectable medication care including scheduling, prior authorizations, and coordination with pharmacies and insurance companies
  • Interface with specialty pharmacies regarding medication delivery, storage, and refills
  • Provide problem-solving support for patients and external partners
  • Participate in grant application processes, activities, tracking, and quarterly progress reporting
  • Oversee ordering of supplies and patient education materials
  • Maintain and organize records including patient and tracking logs, data review, and report creation
  • Implement program and health center policies, BSAS guidelines, and patient materials
  • Collaborate with quality improvement teams to meet quality indicators
