Job Requirements
- Completion of accredited Medical Assisting program or equivalent clinical experience
- Certification as a Medical Assistant or willingness to obtain one within specified timeframe
- Ability to prepare patients and take accurate vital signs
- Experience with clinical procedures including injections, lab testing, and phlebotomy
- Strong communication skills for telephone and in-person patient interaction
- Willingness to assist physicians in minor surgeries and physicals
- Commitment to patient-centered care and professional team collaboration
Job Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited Medical Assisting program or twelve months of direct clinical patient care experience in a healthcare setting or current Medical Assistant certification
- Candidates with one year of Medical work experience who do not possess Medical Assistant Certification must obtain Certification within one year of hire date
- Medical Assistants who recently graduated must obtain clinical MA certification within 60 days of employment
- Active and unrevoked RMA, CCMA, CMA, NCMA, or NCRMA certification or ABR-OE credentials is highly preferred
Job Duties
- Prepare patients for examination and treatment by taking patient histories and vital signs
- Prepare exam and treatment rooms with necessary instruments including preparation and maintenance of supplies and sterilization
- Administer injections and assist with lab testing and phlebotomy
- Assist physicians in preparing for minor surgeries and physicals
- Answer telephone calls to the practice and screen for referrals
