Job Requirements

be at least 18 years of age
have a high school diploma or equivalent
basic knowledge of math, weights and measures
be dependable and reliable
have and show an outgoing and friendly behavior
have the ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays
have good communication skills
perform general housekeeping in the department
adhere to all safety, health, weights and measures regulations and company recipes
be capable of standing for up to 4 hours continuously and a total of 8 hours per shift
be able to work inside a temperature controlled area
possess good vision for using sharp knives and equipment
be able to lift and carry products between 25 to 90 lbs
be able to use a pallet jack to move pallets up to 500 lbs
be able to move racks of products weighing up to 70 lbs
be able to move tables weighing up to 70 lbs

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

provide a high level of customer service
practice safe food handling procedures
receive, store, and grind meats
unload and transport fresh, cured, and boxed meats and poultry
count and weigh incoming articles and compare results against an invoice
examine meats in storage and rotate meats to avoid aging
assist customers with questions and special orders
maintain a positive, customer-focused work environment
perform and follow "Clean as You Go" and "Fresh at 4" programs
adhere to all procedural guidelines set by the Meat Department
