Job Requirements

  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Ability to stand or walk for 6 to 8 hours per day
  • Ability to perform manual tasks including bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching
  • Ability to safely handle knives and cutting equipment
  • Ability to work in cold and wet environments
  • Ability to use tools and machinery such as box cutters and electric pallet jacks
  • No prior retail experience required
  • Ability to adhere to company grooming and attendance standards
  • Ability to follow directions and procedures

Job Duties

  • Ensure a fresh and appealing meat display by checking quality, stocking shelves, rotating and removing out-of-date products, filling ice tables, maintaining cleanliness of cases and equipment
  • Maintain back stock organization and inventory accuracy
  • Assist with product sampling programs by keeping sample areas full, clean and attractive
  • Clean cases, glass, signs, coolers, equipment, floors, and drains according to safety standards
  • Arrive on time, appropriately groomed and ready for all scheduled shifts and required training
  • Provide excellent customer service, address customer inquiries promptly, model suggestive selling techniques
  • Maximize sales potential through proper prepping, storing, and merchandising
  • Follow and enforce health, sanitation, and safety regulations including Weights and Measures
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment and ensure equipment is in proper working order
  • Perform opening, mid, and closing duties including accuracy of pricing and signage
  • Report safety hazards immediately
  • Perform additional duties assigned by management
