The Meat Team Member role at Whole Foods Market is an entry-level position fundamental to supporting the meat department’s operations. This position provides integral assistance with tasks such as counter service, stocking, and sanitation practices to ensure the fresh and appealing presentation of meat products. Job Requirements
- no prior retail experience required
- must be able to lift 50 pounds
- ability to stand or walk 6-8 hours during an 8-hour work day
- hand use including single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling
- ability to perform motions such as bending, twisting, squatting and reaching
- exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals
- ability to work in temperatures up to 90 degrees Fahrenheit
- ability to work in wet and cold environments
- ability to handle knives and other cutting equipment
- ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
- ability to use tools and equipment including box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery

Job Duties
- ensure a fresh and appealing display by checking quality, keeping cases and shelves clean and well stocked, rotating and removing out-of-date products, filling ice tables, and performing other duties as assigned
- maintain back stock in good order
- assist with sampling program, keeping sample areas full, clean and appealing
- clean cases, glass, signs, uprights, coolers, smokers, floors, and drains as required
- arrive to work station on time, appropriately groomed, dressed and ready to work
- provide excellent customer service, address needs of customers in a timely and effective manner and model suggestive selling techniques
- maximize sales potential through effective and proper procedures for prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising product
- follow and comply, or ensure compliance, with established procedures, including weights and measures, health and sanitation, and safe work practices
