Job Requirements
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds
- Ability to stand or walk for 6-8 hours in an 8-hour shift
- Ability to use hands for grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, and pulling
- Ability to perform motions including bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching
- Exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals
- Ability to handle temperatures up to 90 degrees Fahrenheit
- Ability to work in wet and cold environments
- Ability to handle knives and other cutting equipment
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to use tools and equipment such as box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery.
Job Qualifications
- No prior retail experience required
- Ability to sell proactively
- Ability to learn basic knowledge of all products carried in the department
- Ability to visually examine products for quality and freshness
- Ability to read labels and familiarize oneself with various products
- Ability to assist with periodic inventory checks
- Ability to communicate clearly and respectfully with team members, customers, and vendors
- Ability to meet customer service expectations and standards
- Ability to follow directions and procedures
- Effective time management and organizational skills

- Strong work ethic and ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Job Duties
- Ensure a fresh and appealing display by checking quality, keeping cases and shelves clean and well stocked, rotating and removing out-of-date products, filling ice tables, and performing other assigned duties
- Maintain back stock in good order
- Assist with sampling program by keeping sample areas full, clean, and appealing
- Clean cases, glass, signs, coolers, smokers, floors, and drains as required
- Arrive to workstation on time, appropriately groomed, dressed, and ready to work
- Provide excellent customer service, address customer needs promptly, and use suggestive selling techniques
- Maximize sales through proper prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising of products
- Follow and ensure compliance with established procedures including Weights and Measures, health and sanitation, and safe work practices
- Maintain a clean and sanitary working and shopping environment, and ensure equipment meets cleanliness and safety standards
- Perform opening, mid, and closing duties including ensuring accuracy of signs and pricing
- Immediately report safety hazards and violations
- Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.
