This position, Culinary Assistant at Meat Gourmet, is a full-time, hourly role with an estimated pay range of $17.75 to $21.00 depending on qualifications and experience. The Meat Gourmet Culinary Assistant is responsible for mixing and preparing a wide range of gourmet meat items according to established standards and recipes. The role requires strict adherence to food safety and sanitation standards to provide customers with the highest quality gourmet meat products. Team members will also maintain product freshness by rotating inventory, wrapping and labeling products, and preparing production plans based on sales trends and item priorities.
The position entails working in a cooler environment due to the perishable nature of the products. Day-to-day duties also include excellent customer service by greeting customers and responding to inquiries, ensuring the work area is clean and that ingredients are properly stored at the end of the shift, and collaborating with the team to support overall store operations. Job Requirements
- 18 years of age or older
- Ability to use/operate knives, hand chopper, mixer, cube steak machine and meat wrapper safely
- Basic computer skills
- Strong customer service skills
- Good oral communication skills
- Ability to work in cooler temperatures
- Ability to lift, push and pull up to 25 lbs
- Availability for full-time work

Job Duties
- Mix and prepare all gourmet meat products using established recipes
- Examine cases and prepare production plan based on item priority, being mindful of high sales volume products
- Maintain, fill and rotate products for quality, freshness, and proper dates
- Gather necessary ingredients based on determined production needs, being mindful of seasonal items
- Wrap and label product
- Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers and responding to questions
- Ensure work area is clean and ingredients are put away at end of shift
- Adhere to all health, sanitation and safety regulations
- Assist in other duties, as assigned
