The Beverage Manager role is a pivotal leadership position within Moonlight Basin’s Food & Beverage team. This role centers on managing the entire beverage program, encompassing all beer, wine, and spirits offerings across the club’s restaurants and event spaces. The Beverage Manager works collaboratively with the culinary team and events department to strategize and execute innovative beverage programming tailored to the club’s diverse dining outlets, member events, special gatherings, and weddings. A key responsibility involves curating a sophisticated and engaging wine and spirit program designed to captivate and satisfy the membership base. Inventory management, vendor relations, and product procurement are essential components of this role, ensuring the timely availability of premium beverage selections while maintaining budgetary controls. The Beverage Manager also spearheads educational initiatives, developing and delivering beverage training programs for the frontline team to promote confidence, accuracy, and excellence in beverage service.
Beyond administrative duties, the Beverage Manager is actively engaged on the floor, supporting day-to-day front-of-house operations and fostering strong, genuine relationships with members and guests. Job Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years bartending experience
- Minimum of 3 years hospitality management experience
- CMS Level 2 or equivalent required
- Driver’s license required
- Must be dependable and available to work weekends, nights and/or holidays based on business demands
- Strong knowledge of MS Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Excellent time management
- Exceptional attention to detail
Job Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years bartending experience

- Prior experience in a luxury hotel or private club preferred
- College degree preferred
- CMS Level 2 or equivalent required
- Deep knowledge of beer, wine, and cocktail offerings

Job Duties
- Create signature cocktails and select beer, wine, and spirits for menus at the various F&B outlets each season
- Create a robust “Wine Club” program for Moonlight Basin
- Develop a strong in-home cellar program with members based on wants and likes to purchase wines through Moonlight Basin
- Expand on the whiskey program at Moonlight Tavern
- Expand on the retail beverage offering and formalize a Retail Beverage Program at Moonlight Basin
- Implement a cocktail cart for tableside cocktails in the winter during dinner service at Moonlight Tavern
- Complete monthly inventory of all beer, wine, and spirits
- Own the budgeting process for the different beer, wine, and spirit entities
- Order all beverage product for the various restaurant outlets and events
- Develop and manage beverage training programs for FOH hourly associates
- Support day-to-day FOH operations by being present on the floor
- Create and maintain strong relationships with members and guests
- Hold associates accountable for completing work efficiently and accurately
- Ensure outstanding guest service including greeting every member and guest, maintaining service standards, and product knowledge
- Guarantee total guest satisfaction with professionalism and hospitality
- Apply all property safety and security procedures
- Foster a positive working environment with company employees
- Train service teams on wine lists, specialty drinks, and proper beverage service techniques
- Instill confidence in responsible alcohol beverage selling
- Work on the floor weekly to engage with membership and improve service
- Serve as expert on wine and food pairings
- Stay updated on trends in culinary, wine, beer, and spirits
- Document member favorites in the reservation system
- Handle member and guest questions and complaints
- Review and monitor invoices and handle adjustments
- Lead seasonal TIPS training with service staff
