Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- two or more years of related experience
- institutional kitchen experience strongly preferred
- prior supervisory experience
- knowledge of kitchen sanitation and safety procedures
- ability to communicate effectively
- understanding of issues related to homelessness, substance abuse, and disabilities preferred
- valid California driver’s license
- ability to meet insurance carrier guidelines
- pass all required background clearances
- obtain CPR/First Aid certification within 90 days
- ability to lift and move over 50 pounds
- ability to travel between locations
- able to climb stairs as required
Job Qualifications
- Two or more years of related experience
- institutional kitchen experience preferred
- prior experience supervising staff
- knowledge of kitchen sanitation and safety measures
- ability to communicate and comprehend oral and written instructions
- understanding of diets and nutrition principles
- valid California driver’s license
- CPR/First Aid certification within 90 days of employment
Job Duties
- Prepare meals and serve meals to clients
- receive and inventory foods, equipment, and cleaning supplies
- train and direct work of kitchen staff
- ensure meal preparation meets program objectives
- maintain kitchen cleanliness and safety
- monitor and restock inventory as needed
- document and report all food preparation and meal delivery variations
