The Materials Runner position at Performance Drone Works is a vital role responsible for ensuring the seamless movement of materials required for uninterrupted production and mission execution. This contingent role is directly linked to contract awards, indicating that it plays a key part during active project periods. The Materials Runner will transport components, supplies, and finished goods between various locations including warehouses, production floors, local vendors, and other PDW facilities. They use company vehicles to make timely deliveries that adhere strictly to production schedules and routing instructions. Exceptional attention to detail is required to pick, package, document, and verify material movements efficiently using ERP or tracking systems.

In addition to material transport duties, the Materials Runner actively participates in the physical handling of goods by assisting with loading and unloading activities. This also involves adherence to critical safety protocols, including cleanliness and 5S organizational standards, which are essential in a manufacturing and production environment. This role requires robust communication skills as the Materials Runner frequently coordinates with multiple internal departments such as Planning, Procurement, and Production to prioritize runs and resolve any logistical issues.

Physical fitness and the ability to handle materials weighing up to 50 pounds are essential for this role, as it requires working in various environments that range from indoor production lines and warehouses to outdoor vehicles and loading docks. The position demands flexibility, including occasional overtime and travel between PDW sites and external vendor locations. Importantly, candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance due to the sensitive nature of the work. As a U.S. Department of Defense contractor, PDW complies fully with International Traffic Arms Regulations (ITAR), thus applicants must be U.S. citizens, permanent residents, or asylees/refugees under applicable law.
