Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in shipping, receiving, and distribution strongly preferred
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Basic math skills required
  • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality

Job Duties

  • Operate manual and automatic jacks
  • Receive, unload, and load all materials including linen
  • Distribute materials properly throughout the medical center
  • Care for and operate material handling equipment prudently
  • Issue, receive, and record transactions for all supplies and deliveries
  • Conduct inventories and maintain accurate stock records
  • Report shortages, overages, and system balances
  • Process deliveries and use hand-held technology in storeroom and clinical areas
  • Load and deliver materials throughout the medical center
  • Adhere to scheduling of par locations
  • Store and care for materials and equipment safely and hygienically
  • Pack and ship materials as ordered
  • Maintain cleanliness and efficiency of all materials management equipment and work areas
  • Process carts through decontamination units and dispose of soiled materials properly
  • Attach and identify tags or labels to materials upon receipt and record disposition
