Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 1 year experience in master control operations or related field
- Ability to work in a 24/7 shift environment including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Strong attention to detail and multitasking skills
- Familiarity with broadcast industry standards and technology
- Good communication and teamwork abilities
- Proficiency in operating broadcast equipment and software
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and procedures
- Ability to handle stress and maintain composure during live broadcasts
- Understanding of regulatory requirements related to broadcasting
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
Job Qualifications
- 1 year experience in Master Control Operations functions
- Experience in local TV station operations
- Experience in switching live local news and sporting events
- Great attention to detail and ability to multitask monitoring multiple playlists and video monitors
- Understanding of industry regulations and standards for video, audio, captioning, and loudness
- Knowledge of broadcast technology such as switchers, server playout, automation systems, waveform monitors, and rasterizers
- Effective communication skills and ability to work under stress as part of a team
- Aptitude for operating electronic equipment and learning specialized applications
- Experience with systems and hardware for content ingest, playout, and distribution
- Knowledge of Amagi CLOUDPORT Automation system (a plus)
- Availability to work any shift in a 24/7 operation including holidays and weekends
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
Job Duties
- Operate the multi-channel and multi-brand control point for Sinclair Television Stations in Chattanooga, TN
- Manage live event operations including local news and sporting events
- Insert graphics and manipulate playlists for scheduled programming
- Monitor on-air quality to ensure accurate content airing
- Follow standard operating procedures for various networks including disaster recovery
- Modify and verify playlists for current and future broadcasts
- Communicate discrepancies and coordinate with Managers and Operators for smooth shift transitions
- Record, ingest, and prepare content for playout
- Ensure proper video routing and equipment performance monitoring
- Capture and document broadcast processes including timing of log elements and discrepancies
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Adhere to departmental policies and procedures
