Job Description

Marriott Knoxville Downtown is a premier hotel located in the heart of downtown Knoxville, Tennessee, adjacent to the Convention Center. Celebrated for its perfect blend of modern amenities and Southern hospitality, this hotel serves as an ideal destination for both business and leisure travelers. Guests benefit from its prime location within walking distance to notable attractions, including the Knoxville Museum of Art, historic Market Square, and the University of Tennessee. With a strong focus on offering a carefree and enjoyable stay, Marriott Knoxville Downtown features top-tier facilities such as WINDOWS ON THE PARK Restaurant & Lounge, which provides a family-friendly dining experience with special offers for children. The hotel’s commitment to excellent service and guest satisfaction helps maintain its reputation as a distinguished lodging option in Knoxville’s vibrant downtown area.

The Food & Beverage Director role at Marriott Knoxville Downtown is a dynamic leadership position designed for a passionate hospitality professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and loves to blend creativity with operational excellence. This key role involves overseeing all food and beverage functions across the hotel—from the bustling restaurant operations to banquet services—ensuring that every dish served is delicious, presented beautifully, and meets the brand’s quality standards. The director will lead the culinary and service teams with a focus on maintaining high standards of cleanliness, safety, and operational efficiency while minimizing waste. Beyond managing day-to-day operations, the Food & Beverage Director will also play a pivotal role in event management, crafting memorable menus and overseeing banquet setups that leave guests impressed.

In addition to operational oversight, this leadership position requires exemplary financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, and labor management to optimize profitability. The director will be a trusted company ambassador, responsible for securing sensitive information and company assets while fostering a positive, professional, and team-oriented work environment. This role also includes occasional travel to support company business. The successful candidate will need robust communication and problem-solving skills to make sound decisions under pressure. With at least five years of progressive experience in hospitality management and relevant certifications such as Food Handlers, Alcohol Awareness, CPR, and First Aid, this role offers an exciting opportunity to lead a vibrant team and shape the guest dining experience at one of Knoxville’s premier hotels. Marriott Knoxville Downtown supports its full-time employees with a competitive benefits package after an initial wait period, including medical, dental, vision coverage, daily pay options, and a 401k retirement plan. This is more than a job; it’s a chance to be at the center of Knoxville’s hospitality scene and lead a team committed to excellence and guest satisfaction.
