The Assistant Director of Finance at the Atlanta Marriott Alpharetta plays a vital administrative and leadership role by overseeing the smooth and efficient processing of accounting-related information according to Aimbridge Hospitality’s standards. This position is a full-time exempt role, with the expectation that associates work the necessary hours to fulfill job responsibilities, minimuming 47.5 hours per week. The Assistant Director of Finance is expected to supervise and direct the work of at least three full-time associates or their equivalents, spending over 50% of their time engaged in professional, administrative, or executive tasks requiring discretion and independent judgment.

Key responsibilities include managing daily reconciliation of multiple revenue streams such as Rooms, Food, Beverage, and House deposits, overseeing accounts receivable processes, managing cashier banks and over/short logs, performing income audits, processing payroll, and ensuring compliance with Aimbridge’s financial policies and procedures. The role also involves close collaboration with other department heads and management for reviewing financial statements and general ledger activities, ensuring all accounting operations are accurate and efficient.

The Assistant Director of Finance is responsible for maintaining high standards of operational and personal compliance, fostering a positive and service-oriented environment, and upholding Aimbridge Hospitality’s safety and quality standards. This position requires strong leadership, problem-solving abilities, and financial acumen, as well as the interpersonal skills necessary to communicate effectively with guests, associates, and senior management. Job Duties

  • Maintains regular attendance in compliance with Aimbridge Hospitality standards
  • maintains high standards of personal appearance and grooming
  • approaches all encounters with guests and associates in a friendly and service-oriented manner
  • oversees duties of General Cashier and daily reconciliation of various deposits
  • maintains controls for all cashier banks in the hotel
  • oversees Accounts Receivable functions including posting of city ledger payments and AR collection calls
  • reviews bank deposits and handles according to standards
  • maintains responsibility for billing of accounts receivables
  • conducts credit meetings with accounting team and General Manager
  • processes returned checks and credit card chargebacks
  • performs monthly Accounts Receivable Balancing
  • manages Special Operating Account and Petty Cash Fund
  • vouchers invoices using Purchase Order and Checkbook procedures
  • submits hotel invoices to Corporate Accounts Payable weekly
  • performs daily Income Audit and ensures accuracy of income reports
  • reconciles credit cards and cash daily
  • prepares and submits Corporate Flash Report
  • completes monthly checklist and month-end package
  • monitors accounting procedures of Front Office and Night Audit agents
  • oversees training of Night Audit personnel
  • processes bi-weekly payroll and ensures timely submission
  • maintains professional and courteous interaction with all
  • ensures legal compliance regarding payroll and related laws
  • records and monitors associate benefit usage
  • manages records storage
  • fosters open communication with managers, employees, and departments
  • attends weekly staff meetings and provides training
  • participates in MOD coverage
  • maintains confidentiality of information
  • conducts monthly house bank audits
  • assists in inventory counts
  • supports Director of Finance and General Manager with ledger and financial statement reviews
  • develops Night Audit staff for promotion
  • performs other duties as assigned by Director of Finance and General Manager
