The role of the Marlin Bar Manager is an integral leadership position that oversees all aspects of the Marlin Bar's restaurant operations. Your responsibilities include recruiting, hiring, and mentoring a talented team capable of delivering superior dining experiences while managing operational costs, including payroll and expenses, to maintain budgetary compliance. The manager plays a vital role in food safety, menu expertise, point-of-sale management, and maintaining visual and experiential brand consistency throughout the Marlin Bar. Additionally, you will collaborate extensively with retail and regional partners to align marketing efforts, operational policies, and events, reinforcing the brand presence within the community.

This position requires a proactive approach to performance management, employee training, and building a culture of open communication. You will implement learning and training programs, facilitate feedback, and drive compliance with all safety and hospitality standards to ensure a seamless operation. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Generally, three years of restaurant management or leadership experience
  • Must have current food handler's card and alcohol service certification as required by federal, state, or local law
  • Familiarity with Open Table reservation systems preferred
  • Ability to work schedule shifts determined by business needs including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Basic math skills
  • Computer (Microsoft Office) skills
  • Lift and/or move up to approximately 50 pounds frequently
  • Bending, stooping, kneeling required frequently
  • Climbing ladders occasionally
  • Routine standing for up to 8 hours per shift
  • Possible travel for training and assistance at other locations
  • Ability to work varied hours including nights, weekends, and holidays

Job Qualifications

  • Experience in restaurant management or leadership roles
  • Valid food handler's card
  • Alcohol service certification as required
  • Familiarity with reservation systems such as Open Table
  • Strong leadership and team development skills
  • Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and hospitality standards
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage budgets and payroll effectively
  • Proficiency in basic math and computer applications
  • Ability to work flexible schedules that may include nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Physical ability to perform job duties including lifting and standing for extended periods

Job Duties

  • Ensure consistent execution of company policies and procedures
  • Develop and streamline bar processes in partnership with regional management
  • Manage payroll hours relative to budget
  • Administer safety programs for employees and guests
  • Seek marketing and outreach opportunities in the community to increase brand awareness
  • Communicate the Tommy Bahama lifestyle through brand execution
  • Ensure employee appearance reflects the brand image
  • Manage upkeep of kitchen, bar, and exterior in partnership with store and regional managers
  • Embrace and promote the company culture and values
  • Co-manage team meetings with retail and ensure program consistency
  • Partner with retail on marketing, sales events, and shared personnel or operational issues
  • Be receptive to feedback and coaching
  • Possess complete knowledge of food and beverage menus including ingredients and preparation
  • Apply and enforce all hospitality standards
  • Interact with guests and cultivate authentic community relationships
  • Practice proper cash handling and POS system operation
  • Be proficient in food handling, safety, and sanitation guidelines
  • Perform other assigned duties as needed
