Job Description

Tommy Bahama is a renowned lifestyle brand dedicated to providing a relaxed island-inspired experience through its fashion, home furnishings, and hospitality venues. Among its popular enterprises is The Marlin Bar, a vibrant and casual dining environment designed to embody the easygoing island lifestyle. Established in 2016 with its first location at Coconut Point, Florida, The Marlin Bar has become a favored gathering spot for both locals and travelers seeking a welcoming atmosphere to enjoy a variety of frozen cocktails, light fare, and memorable social moments. Following its successful debut, the brand expanded with a second location in Palm Springs, California—a city celebrated for its mid-century modern design and cultural allure. The Marlin Bar strives to blend high-quality customer service with a laid-back vibe, offering guests a unique escape that feels like a daily dose of paradise. With imminent plans to broaden its footprint across the United States and potentially beyond, The Marlin Bar is excited to add passionate team members to its growing family.

The Food and Beverage Host position at The Marlin Bar plays a pivotal role in delivering exceptional customer service by serving as the initial point of contact for guests upon arrival. This job requires the host to greet guests warmly, managing seating arrangements and reservation lists efficiently to maintain smooth front-of-house operations. The role involves ensuring the dining area remains organized and inviting, assisting in table service when possible, and contributing to set up and closing duties as required. Hosts are expected to be knowledgeable about the menu offerings, capable of answering guest questions, and adept at handling phone inquiries related to reservations and takeout orders. Beyond routine hosting responsibilities, team collaboration is essential to uphold the establishment’s high standards of hospitality. Physical stamina is important as the role entails the ability to lift items up to 50 pounds, extensive standing during shifts, and occasional bending or climbing as necessary. Experience with tools like the Open Table reservation system and possessing valid food handler and alcohol service certifications enhance the candidate’s ability to succeed in this role. Tommy Bahama is committed to providing a supportive and inclusive workplace where employees contribute actively to the business's overarching success while enjoying the vibrant island culture that inspires its brand identity. This opportunity allows individuals passionate about guest service and hospitality to thrive in a dynamic and growth-oriented environment, embracing the promise of living the island life every day.
