Job Description
Tommy Bahama is a renowned island-inspired lifestyle brand that has captured the essence of laid-back luxury and tropical elegance. Known for its distinctive blend of apparel, accessories, home furnishings, and exceptional dining experiences, Tommy Bahama offers an immersive escape to the island life, no matter where you are. With a strong commitment to quality, creativity, and customer satisfaction, the brand continues to grow, delivering unique and memorable moments through its carefully curated products and world-class restaurant experiences.
As a leader in the hospitality and culinary industry, Tommy Bahama's restaurants provide guests with an exceptional dining atmosphere that embodies the spirit of island living. These establishments pride themselves on serving 5-star food and impeccable service inspired by scratch cuisine and handcrafted cocktails. The company's commitment to excellence extends beyond its guests to its employees, who are encouraged to grow professionally within an energetic, supportive, and aloha-inspired work environment. Tommy Bahama offers various rewarding career paths, including culinary, front of house, and management roles, making it an attractive employer for those passionate about the restaurant industry.
The role at Tommy Bahama is more than just a job; it’s an opportunity to live the island lifestyle while driving the success of an esteemed dining destination. As part of the leadership team, you will play an integral role in inspiring and guiding your colleagues to work together harmoniously. Your primary focus will be to foster a learning and training environment for all kitchen staff by facilitating company training programs and demonstrating hands-on skills such as proper cooking techniques, knife skills, and effective time management. This role requires someone who is proactive and capable of managing kitchen operations, including menu development and the creation of daily, weekly, and monthly specials that excite guests and align with company standards.
Financial management and budgetary compliance are key responsibilities, as you’ll oversee restaurant expenses, analyze monthly financial reports, and communicate operational information to ensure profitability. Supporting your team goes beyond accountability—you will ensure the transfer of culinary knowledge through continuous on-the-job training, monitor team performance, and strictly enforce safety and sanitation standards in accordance with federal, state, and local laws.
The position requires collaboration with front-of-house leadership to maintain effective communication and coordinate team meetings that drive operational success. Candidates will benefit from a strong foundation in culinary arts and hospitality management, with at least three years of high-volume culinary experience and over a year of kitchen leadership. A bachelor's degree in Culinary Arts, Hospitality, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory. This opportunity is ideal for motivated individuals who are detail-oriented, communicative, and eager to contribute to a dynamic team in a vibrant island-inspired environment.
Tommy Bahama values diversity and inclusion, embracing equal employment opportunities for all qualified applicants regardless of race, gender, age, or any other protected characteristic. The company also participates in E-Verify, ensuring compliance with right-to-work laws while fostering a respectful and accommodating workplace. Join Tommy Bahama and become an ambassador of the island lifestyle, where every day is a chance to create unforgettable experiences for both guests and team members alike.
