The Citywide Special Events Department within Harrah's Gulf Coast plays a crucial role in the seamless execution and management of promotional events that attract and engage clientele. The Coordinator position in this department is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated, organized individual with experience in casino marketing to take charge of day-to-day operations. Coordinators act as the supervisors for assigned events or promotions, working closely with the Marketing Manager to ensure all aspects of the event meet company standards and guest expectations. This role demands strong interpersonal skills to maintain productive relationships with internal departments and external vendors, ensuring smooth collaboration from planning through execution.

In addition to event oversight, this position requires the preparation of presentations and meetings, underscoring the need for excellent communication and organizational skills. The Coordinator must be proactive in providing timely and efficient assistance to both internal and external customers, always upholding confidentiality of sensitive materials. The role also involves enforcing company policies such as the Project 21 regulation aimed at preventing underage gambling, along with suggesting various products and services to guests as part of enhancing their experience. Flexibility to work varied shifts including holidays and weekends is essential, as is the ability to operate in a lively and sometimes challenging casino atmosphere that includes exposure to cigarette and e-cigarette smoke. Job Requirements

  • Able to read, write and speak English sufficiently to perform job
  • Available to work any shift, holidays and weekends
  • Ability to tolerate cigarette, cigar smoke and e-cigarette vapor
  • Responds to visual and aural cues
  • Must have manual dexterity to operate computer, telephone, photocopy machine, fax machine, and ten key
  • Able to tolerate a loud and noisy environment
  • Able to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Able to sit, stoop, reach and bend
  • Able to lift 20 pounds
  • Ability to work in a smoking environment

Job Qualifications

  • Two years previous casino marketing experience
  • Ability to organize and maintain a variety of activities in a multi-tasking, fast-paced environment
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to initiate and engage in professional and friendly conversation
  • Computer literate with IBM, Windows, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), Adobe, PKMS, and AS400 systems
  • Willingness to participate in ongoing food and beverage training
  • Knowledge of current property events, promotions, and attractions
  • Outgoing personality and ability to generate business
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision
  • Superior communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and in team settings
  • Well-groomed appearance
  • Adherence to uniform and appearance standards
  • Ability to operate hardware, software, and other technical equipment

Job Duties

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Citywide Special Events Department
  • Act as the supervisor for assigned events or promotions as directed by the Marketing Manager
  • Create presentations and prepare meetings as needed
  • Maintain and develop relationships with internal departments and vendors
  • Provide assistance to internal and external customers in a friendly, timely and efficient manner
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive materials
  • Enforce Project 21 policy and monitor area for underage gamblers
  • Suggest players in Caesars Rewards, Caesars Rewards App, Play by CR, and Caesars Rewards Visa
  • Recommend products, services, and experiences to guests
  • Perform other duties as assigned
