The Marketing and Special Events Coordinator role at Bloomingdale's is instrumental in driving localized marketing efforts through the execution of integrated marketing campaigns, in-store events, and special activations. This position involves collaboration with various internal departments such as store leadership and client teams, as well as external vendor partners and community organizations, to enhance brand visibility and foster customer engagement. The coordinator will be responsible for supporting and intensifying event activations that increase store animation and build customer loyalty among key customer segments such as Luxe, Unlocked, and Top of the List (TOL) clients. By partnering with store leadership and the central marketing team, this role ensures seamless event planning, execution, and result tracking to maximize impact and contribute to the growth of priority business areas locally.

Additionally, the role includes fostering relationships with external community partners, securing sponsorships, and leveraging co-branding opportunities to deepen Bloomingdale’s presence within the community, thereby building a loyal customer base and driving commerce. The coordinator also plays a pivotal part in supporting the Central Earned Media team by aligning local media plans, securing publicity, and working with appropriately aligned social media influencers and bloggers. The role requires a dynamic individual capable of managing multiple responsibilities involving strategic planning, detailed execution, and effective communication to represent Bloomingdale's positively and professionally.

This position follows a hybrid work model inclusive of in-store work for four days a week and remote work for one day, requiring a candidate who is flexible and able to adjust to event calendar demands. Physical demands include walking, bending, reaching, talking, and occasionally lifting or moving up to 25 pounds. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1-2 years of relevant marketing or event coordination experience
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a hybrid work model with in-store and remote requirements

Job Duties

  • Pursues localized opportunities in alignment with marketing and special events senior manager and store leadership to cultivate customers and build sales
  • Supports local accelerated growth of priority businesses with event intensification that builds store animation and experience
  • Assists in the planning and full execution of all aspects of in-store events and animation that support the direction of the central and local strategy
  • Tracks post-event results, shares photos, and provides feedback to central partners
  • Enhances central event strategy by supporting local secured sponsorships, co-branding opportunities and/or community initiatives that build productive local relationships to acquire new clients and drive commerce
  • Partners with the store leadership team in creating curated event experiences to build loyalty and share among Bloomingdale’s top spending Luxe, Unlocked and Top of the List (TOL) clients
  • Collaborates with the central earned media team to enhance local media plans, secures publicity, and partners with brand-appropriate social media influencers and bloggers
  • Guides general managers on productive involvement in outside organizations and events
  • Leverages corporate philanthropy giving programs to maximize community impact and fundraising
  • Acts as the point person for external communication locally when required
