Job Description

IAPD (International Association of Plastics Distribution) is a professional association dedicated to supporting the plastics distribution industry. The organization focuses on delivering value to its members through various programs, events, communications, and advocacy efforts. With a commitment to advancing the plastics industry, IAPD serves as a hub for members to engage, learn, and grow while fostering a collaborative community environment. Located in Overland Park, Kansas, the association operates as a dynamic and collaborative workplace with an emphasis on membership engagement, education, and industry leadership.

The Marketing and Programs Manager role at IAPD is a vital position designed for a high-energy, versatile marketing professional who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative setting. This is a marketing-first role, not an editorial-only position, requiring an individual contributor comfortable with managing multiple projects simultaneously across various marketing channels. The role primarily focuses on building and executing marketing initiatives that support IAPD’s programs, events, member engagement efforts, digital communications, and creative projects. The Marketing and Programs Manager will contribute to campaign planning and execution, develop messaging for digital and print platforms including IAPD's Performance Plastics magazine, and work closely with design and membership teams. The position frequently involves the use of AI-enabled tools to drive efficiency and impact in content development and marketing workflows.

As part of the team, this role collaborates extensively across departments to bring marketing ideas from concept to completion, ensuring projects advance with strong momentum. The individual also serves as a liaison for volunteer committees, supporting their initiatives and facilitating communication among stakeholders. Creativity, strong writing skills, and editorial judgment are fundamental for success, along with an understanding of digital marketing tools and platforms. The role demands someone proactive, organized, and confident in contributing ideas, while being adaptable to changing priorities. The Marketing and Programs Manager provides hands-on support with creative asset development, collaborates on marketing messaging, and consistently gauges performance metrics to optimize engagement. This full-time in-office position is based in Overland Park, Kansas, with typical work hours from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Some limited travel outside the office is expected, approximately 9 to 10 days per year. Overall, this is a unique opportunity for a marketing generalist enthusiastic about blending strategy, creative marketing, and member engagement within a well-established industry association.
