The Marketing Coordinator role is a crucial position based at the Tucson Convention Center which includes significant venues such as Tucson Arena, Linda Ronstadt Music Hall, and Leo Rich Theater. The role involves strategic and creative marketing, advertising, and promotional planning and execution aligned with pre-approved plans. The position requires innovative thinking to create comprehensive marketing plans which may integrate group sales, public relations, media placement, direct mail, promotional development, live entertainment, and nonprofit opportunities. The Marketing Coordinator is responsible for organizing advertising, promotions, publicity, and managing social media programs that effectively engage audiences and enhance the visibility and reputation of the venues. Brand adherence is critical to ensure all communications represent the organization positively and professionally. This role also includes graphic design duties or coordination with outsourced design partners under the guidance of the Director of Sales and Marketing. Establishing and nurturing effective relationships with advertisers, event organizers, employees, and the public is key to success in this position. Staying abreast of national industry trends and local market developments is essential for keeping the marketing strategies fresh and impactful. Moreover, the Marketing Coordinator acts as the voice on social media platforms, updating channels before, during, and after events to drive interaction and promote activities. Managing event calendars, online listings, and executing online promotions aimed at boosting ticket sales also fall within the scope of this role. Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university preferred
- Minimum 1-2 years of marketing, public relations, or sales experience in entertainment or related field
- Proficient with marketing software and systems
- Knowledgeable in social media marketing and platforms
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Detail oriented
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Willingness to work irregular hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to handle confidential information
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Journalism, Public Relations, or related field preferred
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience in Marketing, Public Relations, or Sales in entertainment industry or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Extensive knowledge of marketing software and systems
- Extensive knowledge of social media marketing and platforms
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Detail oriented
- Ability to work under limited supervision and interact with all levels of staff including management
- Ability to work irregular hours including day, evening, weekends, and holidays

Job Duties
- Create marketing plans for events and initiatives including group sales, public relations, media placement, direct mail, promotional development, live entertainment, non-profit opportunities
- Plan, organize, and implement advertising, promotions, publicity, and social media programs
- Ensure adherence to brand standards for positive representation
- Perform graphic design functions or coordinate with outsourced design partners
- Establish and maintain relationships with advertisers, event organizers, employees, and the public
- Stay current on national industry trends and local market changes
- Serve as the social media voice for Tucson Convention Center including updating before, during, and after events
- Update and distribute event calendars and online event listings
- Conceptualize and execute online promotions to increase ticket sales
- Maintain the facility website
- Work irregular hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
- Perform all other duties as assigned
