Job Description

The Arkansas Department of Parks, Heritage and Tourism is a key state agency dedicated to promoting the rich cultural, natural, and recreational assets of Arkansas. It is composed of three major divisions: Arkansas State Parks, Arkansas Heritage, and Arkansas Tourism. Arkansas State Parks oversees 52 state parks, encouraging tourism that boosts local economies and contributes to the broader economic development of the state. Arkansas Heritage works to preserve and promote the state’s unique cultural and historical landmarks through museums and preservation programs. Arkansas Tourism’s primary mission is to enhance the state’s image, attract visitors, and create travel-related economic opportunities across Arkansas. The department plays an essential role in managing and marketing the state's assets, creating outreach programs, and generating initiatives that highlight Arkansas as a premier tourist destination in the United States.

The Marketing Coordinator position at the Arkansas Department of Parks, Heritage and Tourism is a critical role designed to support the development, coordination, and implementation of marketing programs for Arkansas Tourism, Arkansas State Parks, and Keep Arkansas Beautiful initiatives. This role is based at the Central Office in Pulaski County and offers an anticipated annual starting salary of $47,396.96 with a salary range extending up to $70,148. The Marketing Coordinator reports to the Marketing Manager and plays a pivotal role in ensuring that all marketing activities are well-managed and executed according to state branding standards and campaign goals.

Key responsibilities of this role include managing a substantial volume of simultaneous projects using Monday.com, a project management platform. The Coordinator is expected to maintain organization and alignment of all marketing tasks, timelines, dependencies, and team assignments. The role requires proactive engagement with internal teams and external agency partners to gather information, track progress, resolve any issues, and ensure seamless delivery of marketing campaigns and events.

The Marketing Coordinator must be adept in project management tools and techniques, particularly Monday.com, to create boards, build automations, and generate various reports that provide insight into campaign performance and status. Their ability to monitor risks and delays, propose corrective measures, and maintain compliance with branding guidelines is essential for successful project outcomes. In addition to project coordination, the Coordinator will assist in content creation, social media management, distribution of marketing materials, and event planning. This dynamic role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse teams across state agencies.

This position is ideal for an organized, detail-oriented marketing professional who thrives in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment. Candidates should possess a solid understanding of marketing principles, digital marketing platforms, content creation, and social media management. Experience in tracking marketing campaign metrics with tools like Google Analytics and Meta Business Suite and proficiency in Microsoft Office are highly valued. This role provides significant exposure to state-level marketing campaigns and offers opportunities to contribute to important initiatives that promote Arkansas’ tourism and heritage assets to a national audience.
