The Marketing Assistant position at Sacramento Natural Foods Co-op plays a pivotal role in supporting the marketing department by contributing to various marketing and branding initiatives. Reporting directly to the Marketing Manager, this full-time, non-exempt role offers a competitive pay range of $21.00 to $24.00 per hour. The Marketing Assistant is responsible for production support, including creating graphics, maintaining signage, and assisting with social media tasks. Additionally, the position involves event coordination duties such as the set-up and take-down of events, representing the Co-op in external events, and providing customer engagement support that aligns with the cooperative’s core values. This role requires weekend and evening availability based on event schedules, emphasizing a need for flexibility and strong interpersonal skills. The assistant helps maintain marketing databases, procures products for donations and events, supports social media and branding efforts, and ensures all marketing materials uphold the Co-op’s cooperative identity.

Job Requirements
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, social media platforms, email, time clock software, and marketing tools such as Canva, Adobe Illustrator, and Photoshop
- Experience in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities and attention to detail
- Experience with in-person customer service
- Ability to comprehend complex instructions, correspondence, and memos
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Ability to present information clearly to customers and staff
- Ability to produce clear written procedures
- Ability to apply common sense to detailed instructions

Job Duties
- Upholds all Co-op policies, procedures, and expectations
- Update and maintain marketing databases
- Administer production support for graphics and branding, including cutting, trimming, and laminating signage
- Support marketing tasks including social media as needed
- Procure products for donations and events
- Conduct sign audits and maintain signage
- Receive deliveries and maintain marketing supplies storage
- Assist with event set-up and take-down
- Provide excellent service at events, including weekend and evening availability
- Support in-store and external events to drive membership growth
- Exceed customer service expectations by providing a welcoming environment
- Model prompt, friendly, and courteous customer service
- Maintain calm and friendly demeanor in all situations
- Provide prompt and accurate administrative assistance
- Maintain department files and electronic databases
- Assist in training staff as assigned
- Attend meetings and events as requested
