The Marketing and Community Outreach Coordinator role at Kootenai Health is a dynamic and integral position within the Marketing & Communications department. This role focuses on connecting communities with meaningful healthcare resources through strategic marketing and outreach initiatives. As the face of Kootenai Health and its affiliated brands at community events, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing a variety of outreach programs such as health fairs, health risk screenings, and community health initiatives. Your efforts will directly support clinical outreach activities required for maintaining key program accreditations and enhancing the organization's visibility and reputation in the region.

Reporting closely to the Director of Communications and Marketing and the Marketing Manager, the coordinator will independently research, recommend, and orchestrate events that align with marketing objectives and organizational priorities. You will develop sponsorship plans, manage sponsorship requests, and cultivate strategic partnerships to strengthen community ties and maximize impact. The role requires exceptional organizational skills to manage complex events from inception through completion, including resource coordination, communication with stakeholders, documentation, and outcome analysis.

In addition to event management, the coordinator will engage in volunteer recruitment, collaborate with internal teams such as Human Resources and the Kootenai Health Foundation, and maintain active partnerships with local and regional health organizations and business entities. This position also oversees marketing budgets related to community promotions and sponsorships, ensures brand standard adherence, and supports public speaking initiatives through a managed speaker bureau.

Ideal candidates will be adept at balancing multiple priorities, traveling locally to outreach events with mileage reimbursements, and demonstrating strong interpersonal skills to effectively represent Kootenai Health in varied community settings. Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Healthcare Management, or a related field preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in marketing, outreach, public relations, or related work required
  • Proven experience in planning and managing special events preferred
  • Ability to adjust to varying schedules including evening and weekend events
  • A valid driver's license with proof of insurance and reliable transportation
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple events and priorities efficiently

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Works closely with the Director of Communications and Marketing and Marketing Manager to identify and align work to support strategic marketing and community outreach priorities
  • Independently researches, recommends, and plans events to meet marketing objectives by showcasing Kootenai Health, Kootenai Clinic, and select providers' services
  • Develops an annual sponsorship plan to meet organizational and marketing objectives
  • Plans and executes complex events, managing each event from start to finish including establishing objectives, planning tasks, organizing resources and processes, communicating with stakeholders, maintaining documentation, and reporting results
  • Ensures marketing outreach aligns with brand standards and builds a positive, professional reputation for the organization and providers
  • Strategically coordinates appropriate leaders, board members, staff members, providers and subject matter experts' presence at select events
  • Recruits volunteers for off-site events and collaborates with committees to promote and record volunteerism
  • Works collaboratively with the Kootenai Health Foundation to identify and solicit marketing partnerships
  • Manages the speakers bureau, responding to requests, securing speaking opportunities, and preparing speakers
  • Tracks leader placement on community boards to ensure strategic representation
  • Provides oversight of the community promotion budget and sponsorship budget, including processing and recommending sponsorship requests
  • Coordinates with external vendors for payment processing
  • Facilitates leader participation in community events with proper preparation
  • Tracks and reports community benefit for the annual report
  • Coordinates Cancer Services outreach and provider education for accreditation
  • Works with service lines to meet program accreditation requirements and reports quarterly
  • Develops and maintains partnerships with national and regional health organizations
  • Facilitates relationships with chambers of commerce and business organizations
  • Collaborates with schools and athletic programs for wellness initiatives
  • Works with Human Resources to identify recruitment opportunities
  • Develops promotional materials for outreach activities
  • Manages time efficiently to balance multiple events
  • Travels by personal vehicle to outreach activities with mileage reimbursement
