As a Market Barista at Hyatt Regency Seattle, you will play a vital role in the Market Team, acting as the face of this dynamic café and retail food market. This position involves fulfilling guest orders, preparing food and beverage requests efficiently, and handling cashier transactions seamlessly. You will be responsible for ensuring each guest receives attentive and friendly service while maintaining cleanliness and an inviting atmosphere. The hourly wage for this role starts at $22.58, increasing to a rate of $24.05 for those who have served in this position for four years with Hyatt. Additionally, Market Baristas earn extra compensation through gratuities, tips, service charges on applicable orders, and a $5 bonus for each delivery made to guest rooms. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in food and beverage service preferred
  • Ability to maintain high standards of hygiene and food safety
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Ability to operate point-of-sale systems
  • Flexible availability to work varied shifts including weekends and holidays
  • Valid food handler's and alcohol service permits
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weight

Job Qualifications

  • Previous food and beverage experience preferred especially in barista role
  • True desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast paced environment
  • Energetic with excitement for professional growth
  • Refined verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to lift, pull, and push a moderate weight (about 25 pounds)
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Food handler's permit required
  • Alcohol service permit required
