Job Requirements
- bachelor's degree or equivalent hotel experience
- minimum 5 years sales experience in similar sized hotel operation
- proven ability in sales management and marketing
- strong computer skills including Microsoft Office and Delphi
- exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities
- strong knowledge of travel and hospitality market
- ability to work collaboratively with operations and front desk teams
- excellent organizational and leadership skills
Job Qualifications
- 4-year degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel and Restaurant Management or equivalent hotel experience
- 5+ years of sales experience in a similar sized operation
- strong knowledge of travel industry and current market trends
- proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Delphi FDC
- excellent written and oral communication skills
- ability to manage time, resources, and personnel effectively
- professional customer service skills
- budgeting and math skills including budgetary analysis
- experience in team leadership and development
Job Duties
- setting goals and action plans around proactive business and account maintenance
- developing a marketing plan and working with brand and ecommerce departments to optimize internet presence
- building a guest-focused sales team that understands departmental processes and action plans
- recording all business leads in Delphi and generating contracts, invoices, and sales reports
- collaborating with operations to keep them informed of group and meeting room business
- keeping the front desk informed and working to ensure guests and potential guests' business needs are met
- working closely with the General Manager to ensure sales goals and market share targets are on track
- interviewing, hiring, training, and supervising sales staff through account reviews, coaching, performance evaluations, and recommending discipline or termination when appropriate
