The Market Cook position at Columbia Club is a crucial role within the Culinary Department, reporting directly to the Main Kitchen Supervisor with oversight from both the Executive Sous Chef and Executive Chef. This role primarily focuses on the preparation of all meals, including chopping vegetables, making salads, and cooking entrees, which are essential tasks that contribute to the smooth operation of the kitchen. The Market Cook is expected to maintain high standards of production and service while working efficiently and productively with minimal supervision. This role offers valuable opportunities to develop a broad range of culinary skills, including mastering kitchen tools and utensils, applying various culinary techniques, and expanding food knowledge.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- prior experience in a commercial kitchen preferred
- ability to follow instructions accurately
- physical ability to perform kitchen duties including lifting and standing for long periods

Job Duties
- Complies with the club's policies and procedures as established in the employee handbook
- completes all opening and closing side work as assigned and/or scheduled for a given shift
- washes, peels, dices and chops foods according to Executive Chef's requirements
- operates kitchen utensils and/or equipment used for weighing, measuring, mixing, washing, peeling, cutting, grinding, stirring, straining, slicing, assembling and kneading of food products
- maintains high quality standards for production and service
- works productively with little supervision
- cleans and sanitizes work station and equipment
- collaborates with other kitchen staff to ensure food is prepared and ready to serve in an orderly fashion
- consistently follows all sanitation-related requirements, including personal hygiene
- maintains professional behavior and appearance at all times
- completes other appropriate work assignments as requested by Kitchen Supervisor, Executive Sous Chef or Executive Chef
