Job Requirements
- Full time permanent position based in LAX hangar
- Willingness to work across varying time zones
- Demonstrated experience in aviation regulatory compliance and safety management
- Strong leadership and team management capabilities
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to handle high-pressure environments
- Relevant aviation safety qualifications
- Eligibility to work in the US with sponsorship available for the right candidate
Job Qualifications
- Over 10 years experience in regulatory, safety or compliance roles ideally within engineering
- Extensive knowledge of aviation safety and airworthiness regulations including CASA, EASA and other National Aviation Authority frameworks
- Professional aviation management or safety qualifications including Lead Auditor highly regarded
- Proven leadership skills managing multiple projects or programs
- Strong strategic thinking and ability to work with complex systems
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to deliver under pressure and manage time effectively
- Leadership capability to work autonomously and support/manage teams
- Ability to work across varying time zones
Job Duties
- Play a pivotal role in shaping the safety and quality culture of Qantas Engineering's Americas operations
- Drive excellence across the LAX Line Maintenance Operation
- Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to influence change and enhance operational performance
- Lead governance processes for change management, risk mitigation, and regulatory approvals
- Manage safety and quality documentation to ensure compliance with Qantas Engineering standards
- Collaborate with the Safety, Quality & Compliance leadership team to ensure global consistency
- Design, implement, and continuously improve safety and quality management systems
