Job Description

Capitol Broadcasting Company is a prominent and diversified communications leader headquartered in North Carolina. It operates a wide range of media assets including television stations WRAL-TV and WRAZ-TV, several radio stations, and digital platforms serving the communities around Raleigh, Wilmington, Durham, and more. Part of its extensive portfolio is the Durham Bulls Baseball Club, a beloved minor league baseball team based in Durham, NC, known for providing top-notch sports entertainment and community experiences at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park (DBAP). Capitol Broadcasting Company’s integrated media and entertainment operations make it a dynamic leader in local sports, broadcasting, and event management, enriching the cultural fabric of the region through live events, media productions, and community engagement.

The role of Manager, Promotions & Game Entertainment at the Durham Bulls is a vibrant and multifaceted position ideal for a creative, organized, and energetic professional. This role centers on leading the planning, development, and execution of engaging theme nights, promotions, and in-game entertainment to craft memorable and enjoyable experiences for fans at the DBAP. The position involves a blend of innovative idea generation and hands-on live production management, requiring the individual to be an effective show caller during live games, coordinating entertainment elements and promotions seamlessly from the first pitch to the final out.

The Manager will work closely with various departments including Corporate Partnerships and the creative/content teams to develop exciting fan engagement initiatives and incorporate sponsor elements in a manner that enhances the fan experience without compromising its authentic and fun atmosphere. This individual will oversee the creation and management of game scripts, rundowns, and timing sheets, and coordinate with on-field hosts, mascots, and entertainment staff to ensure a consistent energy and polished presentation at every game and event hosted at the DBAP.

This position demands excellent organizational skills and the ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment, often with many distractions and unpredictable weather conditions. The ideal candidate should have a passion for baseball, live entertainment, and creating compelling experiences for fans. Experience with specific production technology like Ross Dashboard, Ross Xpression, and Sho Flo is required, underlining the technical familiarity necessary in delivering a professional production.

Capitol Broadcasting Company values inclusivity, professional growth, and fostering a supportive team culture, offering competitive salaries and a comprehensive benefits package that includes health, dental, and vision insurance, life insurance, various voluntary benefits, 401K with company match, as well as generous paid time off and company holidays. This role also provides exciting opportunities to work on innovative projects and attend local live events, making it an attractive career choice for professionals eager to thrive in sports entertainment production and event management within a leading regional media company.
