Job Description

Feeding Tampa Bay is a leading hunger relief organization serving ten counties across West Central Florida. As part of the Feeding America network, this nonprofit organization is committed to addressing food insecurity and creating pathways toward long-term stability for nearly one million individuals and families. Last year alone, Feeding Tampa Bay provided 85 million meals through direct service and its extensive network of over 400 food pantry partners. The organization's mission transcends food distribution, focusing on dismantling barriers that prevent access to nutritious meals and ensuring dignity, respect, and support for those in need. Feeding Tampa Bay works to mobilize community resources, convene partners, and foster solutions that nourish and empower the region's vulnerable populations.

The Program Manager position at Feeding Tampa Bay is a vital role dedicated to overseeing Trinity Café, a free, full-service restaurant aimed at providing healthy meals to neighbors in need. This position is responsible for the daily management and execution of programming at the Nebraska Avenue location, which operates 365 days a year. The Program Manager ensures the smooth operation of a restaurant-style meal service that runs Monday through Friday from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM, and on weekends from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM. Responsibilities include managing the culinary and facility upkeep teams, coordinating volunteer efforts, and fostering a safe, welcoming environment for guests. This individual will also support external community partners who offer various resources to guests accessing meal services at the café.

The role requires leadership in volunteer management, including recruitment, training, orientation, scheduling, and retention efforts. The Program Manager collaborates closely with Feeding Tampa Bay's Volunteer team to optimize the use of volunteer scheduling systems and ensure a seamless volunteer experience. Additionally, this position entails administrative duties such as tracking program data, coordinating partner activities, maintaining inventory, and managing on-site expenses. The Program Manager plays an important role in community engagement and may represent Feeding Tampa Bay within local networks to build relationships that support the café's success.

Candidates for this role must demonstrate a commitment to the organization’s mission, embrace its Grow Code principles, and promote a culture of dignity and empathy. They must be adaptable with scheduling to provide rotating weekend and holiday coverage, maintain high standards of food safety and facility cleanliness, and be willing to participate actively in mission-driven programs related to food distribution and disaster relief. The Program Manager will help cultivate a positive environment for guests, volunteers, and staff alike, embodying the values and philosophy central to Feeding Tampa Bay's impactful hunger relief work.
