Job Requirements
- 5 plus years experience in transportation brokerage or third party logistics field
- 5 years experience in management or similar role
- College degree or experience in lieu of education
- Fluency in English oral and written
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite particularly Excel and PowerPoint
- Experience with transportation management software such as TMS or WMS
- Ability to motivate and manage a team effectively
Job Qualifications
- 5 plus years experience in transportation brokerage or third party logistics field with comprehensive knowledge of LTL Truck Load and current trucking marketplace
- 5 years experience in management or similar role
- College degree or experience in lieu of education
- Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to motivate and develop staff
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with people at all levels of the organization
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to identify and address operational issues and challenges
- In depth knowledge of transportation and logistics processes regulations and industry best practices
- Proficiency in using transportation management software such as TMS or WMS
- Knowledge of lean principles and methodologies is a plus
- Fluency in English oral and written
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite particularly Excel and PowerPoint and experience with transportation management software
Job Duties
- Manage and oversee all aspects of the transportation and logistics division including planning scheduling and coordinating activities to ensure timely and efficient delivery of goods and services
- Monitor and maintain operational policies procedures and systems to improve efficiency quality and safety
- Manage staff including hiring training and performance evaluation to ensure that all team members are working effectively and efficiently
- Monitor and analyze performance metrics including productivity cost and quality and develop plans to improve performance
- Maintain strong relationships with customers partners and vendors ensuring that all parties are informed and satisfied with the services provided
- Collaborate with other departments including sales and customer service to ensure that all aspects of the business are aligned and working together effectively
- Continuously search for ways to improve operational processes define structure and increase productivity
