The Manager of Safety and Security is a full-time, exempt role with a salary range of $92,000 to $95,000. This critical leadership position is tasked with overseeing the comprehensive safety and security operations at the Glazer Campus and the Brawerman East Schools, with a particular focus on events and programming held at the Audrey Irmas Pavilion. The individual in this role will lead a dedicated team of security personnel, developing and enforcing policies, procedures, and risk mitigation strategies essential in managing a high-visibility, public-facing environment. Responsibilities encompass coordinating emergency preparedness and response activities, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations, and maintaining operational security systems, including CCTV, alarms, and access control.

In addition to managing daily security operations, the Manager of Safety and Security plays a vital role in event security leadership. They provide on-scene leadership during emergencies or high-risk incidents, serve as the primary security contact for campus and event stakeholders, and coordinate staff deployment effectively. The position requires a keen ability to assess event risks, plan security measures accordingly, and oversee crowd management and access control to foster a safe environment. Compliance with the California Bureau of Security and Investigative Services (BSIS) regulations and other legal requirements is crucial to this role, alongside maintaining strong partnerships with local law enforcement and fire agencies.

The role also demands strong people management skills, requiring supervision, training, and development of security officers and supervisors. The Manager is responsible for ensuring that all staff maintain current certifications and are adequately trained to meet operational standards.
