Job Requirements

  • bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience
  • three to five years of related experience
  • experience in sound engineering and managing technical equipment
  • proven leadership and team management skills
  • ability to create and oversee technical designs for events
  • experience in budgeting and cost monitoring
  • flexibility to work evenings and weekends
  • capability to perform minor physical activities
  • ability to work in outdoor and occasionally stressful environments

Job Qualifications

  • bachelor’s degree in related field such as engineering or communications
  • three to five years of direct related experience in operating sound engineering equipment
  • experience working with and leading technicians
  • experience designing stage sets
  • experience budgeting for supplies and equipment
  • strong communication and leadership skills
  • ability to provide digital design mock-ups and proposals
  • knowledge of audio/visual systems installations
  • ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams

Job Duties

  • provides audio and visual services for institutional chapel, events, conferences, camps, concerts, and other presentations on campus
  • manages staff including recruiting, training, managing performance, and scheduling
  • plans for and advises the maintenance, development, and improvement of the department of Event Technology
  • makes recommendations for Event Technology’s office annual personnel, material costs, and capital improvements
  • conducts regular performance reviews and coaching sessions in order to give constructive performance feedback
  • monitors expenditures for conformity to established budgets
  • operates and trains others to operate sound, lighting, staging, and other electronic equipment
  • works with members of the Event Planning Team to establish creative vision for stage designs, including providing digital design mock-ups, design proposals, and oversight for all builds
  • works with constituents across campus to identify needs and support their vision of events and event technology
  • creates design, proposes, and recommends Audio/Visual systems installations
  • ensures the effective use of technical equipment and personnel for campus events
  • works with the Event Productions Office to plan and execute media needs for campus events
  • contributes as an active member of the Event Planning Team
  • reviews event riders for invited guest artists and music groups and coordinates special equipment requests
  • operates front of house sound as needed
