Job Description
Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP is a prestigious international law firm known for its commitment to excellence, innovation, and client service. With a distinguished history and a global presence, the firm provides sophisticated legal services to a broad range of clients, including major corporations, financial institutions, and governments. Renowned for its collaborative work environment and ethical standards, Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP fosters a culture of professional growth and inclusivity, ensuring a supportive atmosphere where employees can thrive and contribute meaningfully to the firm's continued success. The firm is headquartered in New York with multiple offices worldwide, including a key office in downtown Houston, Texas, where this position is based.
The role of Marketing and Events Manager at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP is a dynamic and integral position within the firm's business development team. The Manager is responsible for supporting the firm’s strategic growth initiatives by planning and executing a diverse portfolio of high-quality, engaging events, which vary in size and format. These events include practice group gatherings, office events, partner functions, recruiting activities, and client-focused occasions. This role requires a professional adept at managing every aspect of event planning—from initial concept through to execution and post-event analysis—ensuring seamless delivery and measurable results.
The Marketing and Events Manager works closely with partners, business development colleagues, and various internal stakeholders to deliver exceptional client service in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities range from budget management and contract negotiation to vendor coordination and logistical arrangements including site inspections and menu selections. The position demands a keen eye for detail, superior organizational skills, and the ability to foster strong relationships with both internal teams and external suppliers such as caterers, venues, hotels, and event service providers.
This role is hybrid, requiring the incumbent to commute to downtown Houston at least four days per week. It also demands flexibility to work additional hours and travel when necessary. The Marketing and Events Manager must be proficient in Microsoft Office and Adobe Suite, with a preference for candidates experienced with Client Relationship Management (CRM) systems. This position reports within a supportive team environment where collaboration and innovation are encouraged. Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience, education, and professional credentials, reflective of the candidate's qualifications and the firm's standards.
By joining Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP as a Marketing and Events Manager, you will play a pivotal role in elevating the firm’s brand presence through impactful events and thorough business development efforts. This position offers a unique opportunity to work within a top-tier legal environment and contribute directly to the firm’s strategic priorities, while advancing your career in marketing and event management within the legal industry.
